Travel
Transfer from Konstantin Veliki Airport in Niš to Novi Pazar takes three and a half hours, even though it is only 170 km to the administrative center of the Raška region – Novi Pazar. The reason for such a relatively long journey considering the distance from Niš is that we are always moving on main and regional roads. We pass through the following cities and towns: Merošina, Prokuplje, Beloljin, Blace, Brus, where we continue towards Kopaonik mountain and continue towards Jošanička Banja. Also, there is a possibility of transfer via Župski Aleksandrovac.
After crossing the southern side of Kopaonik, and crossing the bridge over the river Ibar, we continue to Raška, before which there is the possibility of turning towards Kosovo and Metohija, the administrative crossing of Jarinje and going to Kosovska Mitrovica.
Novi Pazar
The largest city in this part of the Republic of Serbia can be reached relatively quickly from Raška. The city is known for its oriental outline, which was left there by centuries of Turkish rule. It is known for its dynamic life, heavy traffic, a significant number of historical and religious sites, such as Arab Mosque, Altun Alem Mosque, Hammam as well as Sopoćani Monastery, Stari Ras Fortress, Petrova Crkva, Đurđevi Stupovi Monastery, etc.
It also houses the Faculty of Islamic Studies, the only one in Serbia.
