The airport Sofia, one of more crowded airports in our closer environment, managed to provide transportation services for more than 6.000.000 passengers during the last year.
It consists of two, physically separated terminals, in that, the old Terminal 1, the designing and construction of which started far in 1937, is nowadays used for flights covered by Hungarian low-cost company WizzAir. Terminal 2, constructed later and finally put into operation in 2006, was done according to the highest world standards, with VIP terminal, is used by both the Bulgarian National Company Air Bulgaria, and the low-coast companies RyanAir, Transavia Holland , Eurowings, EasyJet, as well as the major air transporters, flying in this part of the world: TurkishAirlines, CatarAirways, Lufthansa, Air France, Aeroflot etc.
Every half an hour, there is the airport Shuttle bus, driving passengers from the Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and vice-versa.
The last section of the eastern side of the corridor 10, opened on 8th November 2019, made the transportation to the Sofia Airport easier, faster and more comfortable.
The very drive from Niš to the airport in Sofia lasts two hours, with a note that during the summer season and holidays, there is a possibility of delay at the border crossing Gradina.
