Belgrade Airport, as the largest in the country, is the most common choice of travelers from Serbia. Whether you are from the north, south, west or east of the country, the first association is – Belgrade. Although Niš Airport has become an important regional airport in the last few years, most people from Leskovac and its surroundings prefer to travel from the Serbian capital.
Travel
For the past fifty years, people from the Jablanica administrative district have been using the Niš-Belgrade highway, which was built up to Leskovac itself in 2007, in order to get to Belgrade. Although the toll ramp itself is some ten kilometers away from Leskovac, the connection to the E75 Leskovac-Belgrade highway can be reached in ten minutes.
From the Leskovac toll booth to the Vrčin toll booth in front of Belgrade, you need to allocate 1,000 dinars for toll and two and a half hours of your time.
Where we pass
Along the way, you pass by larger towns: Niš, Aleksinac, Pojate, Kruševac, Paraćin, Ćuprija, Jagodina. A short break and possible refueling are recommended here. The best coffee is drunk at OMV gas stations. The journey continues, passing Batočina, Velika Plana, Lapovo, Mihajlovac. We leave Šumadija and slowly start descending towards Belgrade, leaving Mount Avala on the left.
In Belgrade
At the very entrance to Belgrade, on the right side you can see all the beauty of socialist realism embodied in the building called the Eastern Gate of Belgrade. Pay attention to the time of arrival at the airports, because of rush hours, in the morning between 8 and 10 a.m., as well as when citizens of Belgrade return from work, after 4 p.m. Also, it very often happens that even one small, insignificant traffic accident on the highway that passes literally through the city itself, causes huge crowds and traffic jams that can cause problems for you to get to the airport on time.
